Online Backup is a functionality which allows you to save your data using the Internet.
After the very first backup, only delta data of each file is transmitted, encrypted and compressed to ensure security and performance.

Running a backup is easy and can be fully automated. Just once define the files you want to save and setup an appropriate schedule, that's it. From that point onwards, data is availabe for restore whenever you need. Easily selectable with a wizard which guides you thru the restoration process, you can restore day by day or even hour by hour, depending on your backup schedule.

The Backup Software is free of charge, you just pay for the space you need on our Online Backup system.

The Online Backup Systems is built on redundant disks and all data is saved to tape on a daily basis.
All data on disk is encrypted to guarantiee maximum security.

All you need is a xDSL link. An upload transmission speed of 128kBit is adequate and performs very well.
Technically, it will run with a Dialup link as well, but it is not recommended.

Q1: I do a backup to an external Disk. Do I have to use an Online Backup System?

Q2: How secure is my Data on the Online Backup System?

Answers
A1: Yes, you sould. A backup to an external Disk is fine for a temporary backup.
With an external disk you are not protected if your external Disk fails. You can somehow overcome this problem by using a 2nd or 3rd Disk.
Still you most likely do not have a history of your files unless you spend a lot of time to do that manually.
Most often, Users are not aware or do not pay enough attention to their backups. Why? It is cumbersome!
By using our Online Backup System you have a solution which covers all these aspects.

A2: Data is encrypted transmitted and stored on the Online Backup System. Data can only be recoverd using the Cypher Key.

Pricing

You need 1 License per Computer System.
Charges are per GB of reserved Online Backup Diskspace per Month, payable 1 Year ahead.
Online Backup Diskspace cannot be shared between Systems.

Pricing per GB (1024MB): CHF 5.-- /excl VAT

Example: 2 PC's, 1 PC requires 5GB, 1 PC requires 1GB of Online Backup Diskspace:

PC 1: 5GB Online Backup Diskspace: 5 * CHF 5 = CHF 25.00
PC 2: 1GB Online Backup Diskspace: 1 * CHF 5 = CHF 5.00
Total: CHF 30.00 * 12 = CHF 360.00 / Year
